About Us

History

Yarra Ranges Volleyball Club evolved from the Monbulk Volleyball Club which began formally in 1989. The club  involves athletes from around the Yarra Ranges, Maroondah and Knox areas in the outer east of Melbourne.

The Yarra Ranges Volleyball Club is based on teamwork and becoming better people as well as better players. Loyalty and a hard working training ethos are paramount to our success.

We have always supplied a high percentage of State and National players. The long list of great champions includes David Beard, our Olympic Captain, and most capped player. As Dave says, “the skills and attitudes that made the Australian team a success were developed at Monbulk.”

If you want to train harder, give back to your club and meet great people as part of a team – become a Yarra player.

Junior Program

Our junior program is based at Monbulk College. A volleyball centre of excellence that has been in the top
3 schools in Victoria for over 20 years and is currently number 3 in Australia.

To accommodate other juniors in the area, when numbers allow, we have a second team in which they can play on
Saturday mornings, however, there is no training for this second team.
